Client : Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS)
Founded in 1913, Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) is a leading theological institution located on To Fung Shan in Shatin, Hong Kong. Rooted in the Lutheran tradition while embracing an ecumenical approach, LTS provides theological education to students from diverse denominational backgrounds through a wide range of certificate, degree, and doctoral programmes.
The Challenge
As a respected institution with a long history, LTS sought to strengthen its public communications while maintaining a balance between tradition and contemporary relevance. The seminary required professionally designed publications that would effectively communicate its vision, achievements, and educational mission to students, alumni, donors, and the wider community.
In 2022, LTS also commissioned the design of its 110th Anniversary Memorial Bulletin, a landmark publication celebrating over a century of theological education and ministry.
Our Approach
Our collaboration with LTS focused on the design and production of newsletters, annual reports, and commemorative publications. The objective was to present the seminary as a forward-thinking institution while honouring its rich heritage and academic reputation.
For the 110th Anniversary Memorial Bulletin, we developed a design approach that combined historical significance with a clean, modern visual language. Careful attention was given to typography, layout structure, archival content presentation, and overall readability to create a publication worthy of this important milestone.
Despite operating across two countries and time zones between the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, we established an efficient workflow that enabled smooth communication, rapid revisions, and timely project delivery.
The Outcome
The completed publications strengthened the visual consistency of LTS’s communications and enhanced the presentation of its institutional identity. The 110th Anniversary Memorial Bulletin successfully commemorated a significant chapter in the seminary’s history while demonstrating that thoughtful design can bridge geographical distances and cultural contexts.
Through strategic design and effective collaboration, we helped LTS communicate its story with clarity, professionalism, and impact.

Project: Preserving Memories Through Digital Art
This collection of digital artworks was originally created more than ten years ago with a simple but meaningful purpose: to document and preserve the architectural character of historic buildings in Hong Kong.
At the time, many of these buildings were facing redevelopment and an uncertain future. Today, every building featured in this collection has been demolished, making these artworks a visual record of places that no longer exist.
The Project
Combining illustration, graphic design, and architectural observation, each artwork captures the distinctive details, atmosphere, and cultural significance of Hong Kong’s urban landscape.
Rather than creating idealised scenes, the project aimed to document real places and everyday streetscapes that formed part of the city’s collective memory. These buildings represented more than architecture; they reflected communities, local history, and the changing identity of Hong Kong.
Why Display Them Now?
As this event focuses on the theme of migration, these artworks have taken on a new meaning.
For many Hong Kong migrants living in the UK, they serve as a reminder of familiar places and shared experiences. They offer an opportunity to reconnect with personal memories while also introducing local communities to an important part of Hong Kong’s heritage.
The collection also encourages conversations about the historical connections between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, creating a bridge between past and present, and between different communities.
Impact
The artworks have sparked discussions around identity, heritage, migration, and the importance of preserving cultural memory. They demonstrate how art can serve not only as a creative expression but also as a form of historical documentation.
By sharing these pieces publicly, the project helps keep the stories of these lost buildings alive for future generations.
